Solid to liquid experiment.

Term 4's topic is Science. Room 7 learned about Matter,Matter is everything. In room 7 we used some gloves and put some water in the glove. Then we put some colored dye into the water then tied a knot at the open side of the glove. After that we put the glove with water in into the refrigerator for a couple of days. After the couple of days we took the glove out. Guess what the glove was all ice. Some of the gloves got stuck together so we had a hard time trying to separate the gloves apart. Then we lined up all of the glove against the wall of the deck and then we went back inside to wait for it to melt. We thought of some ideas of how long the gloves were going to take for it to melt.

Star War's Play

A few days ago the reading group called Star Wars did a play about pirates, The actors in Star Wars were Jorja, Jameer, Ryan, Amy ( but she was in another group), Arteen, John. Here is a Video and some pictures.

On the 26th of September we learnt how to say thank you, please, yes,no,goodbye and good morning.
Alice and Lemi taught us how to speak Korean. Every one enjoyed. here are the photo's of Korea teaching.

Room 1's tennis.

At Monday 18th of September we did tennis. Our coach demonstrated with John. We had to choose our pairs. Then either one of the pair had to be A or B. After that A had to get a ball. Then you had to throw the ball under arm to your pair. Next we had to do a tennis racket catch and then the normal tennis hit. It was really hard to not hit the ball too hard.

Moana's Play

In Room 1 we did another play that The group Moana's did, some people from the Troll's group helped with the play. Here are some pictures.

Mandarin

On Wednesday 13th we had Mandarin. The topic was paper cutting.( 剪紙 ). We cut pandas. Lily gave us paper with a panda drawing on it. We had to cut the drawing. It was so cute. I ( Lemi ) cut a neck tie for the panda and a pair of glasses.

Matariki art

This is room 1's Matariki art. We were inspired by Vincent Van Gogh's Starry night and the stories of how the Matariki stars were formed. It took us weeks. We used Vincent Van Gogh's brush strokes. Some of us painted the tree which were from the Starry night painting. Here are some images.

Dolphin Tales Play

In Room 1 the Reading Group "Dolphin Tales" performed a play for the whole class. Here is a picture of them.

Everyone did well in their play and the class enjoyed it.

Sharing our Writing

In Room 1 we were learning to do creative writing which has juicy words ( adjectives ) and sometimes metaphors and similes. Here is a picture.

Johnny's last day

On the 24th of August on the day Friday our friend Johnny had to leave our school. We all had a great time with Johnny. It was sad to see him leave. Johnny is the boy with the grey t-shirt. We had a really good time with him.

2017 Cross Country

On the 22nd of August on the day Tuesday, we had Cross Country. A lot of kids participated in Cross Country and the Fun run. Mrs Lee was near the crossing when the kids were running to the park.

Year 4 boy's went first then year 4 girl's, afterwards year 5 boy's went up and then year 5 girl's, The last group were the year 6 boy's and year 6 girl's.
