Room 1 has been learning about Explorers, we have been making posters about different types of explorers like Amelia Earhart, Marco Polo, Sacagawea and more. Here are some pictures of the Posters.

Matariki art

This is room 1's Matariki art. We were inspired by Vincent Van Gogh's Starry night and the stories of how the Matariki stars were formed. It took us weeks. We used Vincent Van Gogh's brush strokes. Some of us painted the tree which were from the Starry night painting. Here are some images.

Dolphin Tales Play

In Room 1 the Reading Group "Dolphin Tales" performed a play for the whole class. Here is a picture of them.

Here are the names of the people in Dolphin Tales ( From left to right ): Georgia, Devin, Bianca, Eve and Romy.

Everyone did well in their play and the class enjoyed it.

Sharing our Writing

In Room 1 we were learning to do creative writing which has juicy words ( adjectives ) and sometimes metaphors and similes. Here is a picture.

Goodbye Bruce!

In Room 1 Bruce Lee is going back to China, we will miss him very much! Here is a picture.

Johnny's last day

On the 24th of August on the day Friday our friend Johnny had to leave our school. We all had a great time with Johnny. It was sad to see him leave. Johnny is the boy with the grey t-shirt. We had a really good time with him.
